Founders Fund Leads TaskRabbit’s $13 Million Series C Funding Round, Company Announces Two New Board Members

It’s been a thrilling ride at TaskRabbit since the start of the year. In that time, we acquired another startup, SkillSlate; released our API; partnered with Bravo TV to launch our service in Austin at SXSWi 2012; opened up our service in Seattle, Portland, and San Antonio; and we debuted our on-demand delivery service in San Francisco, called Deliver Now. In that time, Task volume has increased four-fold and gross bookings have nearly quintupled. Yep, we’ve been pretty busy.
And we’re not stopping anytime soon! We’re thrilled to announce today that we’ve received $13 million in Series C financing, led by Founders Fund. Existing investors — including Shasta Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Baseline Ventures, Shervin Pishevar, and 500 Startups — also invested in the round. The new funds will support us in aggressively expanding the engineering and product teams, as well as the executive team. [pullshow]

Founders Fund’s Bruce Gibney will join TaskRabbit’s Board of Directors, as will former eBay Vice President and current Trunk Club Chief Operating Officer, Rob Chesney. Rob’s vast expertise in marketplace operations and user experience will add an invaluable perspective to the TaskRabbit Board. We couldn’t be happier to have him join our team.

“Founders Fund is delighted to support Leah and her team in building this beautiful and innovative product. TaskRabbit allows every TaskRabbit Runner to be an entrepreneur and every TaskPoster to access high quality labor on his or her own terms. TaskRabbit helps its users become more productive while simultaneously creating thousands of jobs — it’s a revolution for a labor market in desperate need of innovation.”

It’s been almost four years since TaskRabbit was founded. Since then, we’ve redefined the way people collaborate with their neighbors to get things done. With the unparalleled support of our new and existing investors and all of you in the TaskRabbit community, we’re on our way to revolutionizing the world’s labor force.
