Today is National Video Game Day! And to celebrate, we’re featuring a “super nerdy” task that involves waiting in line for a midnight amiibo release from the Nintendo World Store in New York.

For those of you not in the know, amiibo are Nintendo character figurines that are can also interact with certain games on the Wii U and 3DS. Some of them are extremely rare and people will wait in line overnight just to score one of these interactive toys. Diana, a Client in New York, desperately wanted to get her hands on one of these limited edition amiino, but she knew she wouldn’t be able to leave work in time to secure a good spot in line.

That’s when Diana turned to TaskRabbit. Tasker Alexandria wasn’t put off by the self-proclaimed nerdy-ness of the task, or by the thought of hanging out for hours with a bunch of Nintendo super fans. Together, Diana and Alexandria deciphered the event’s wristband system, and Alexandria tackled the line for eight hours. Diana claimed her spot and waited another another eight hours before the dizzying triumph of finally acquiring her amiibo.

It was 4 a.m. when Diana finally got home, but thanks to Alexandria, it was worth it.

Need someone to help you hold a place in line? Check out what TaskRabbit has to offer.

Happy Video Game Day!
