4 Projects to Refresh Your Home for Spring

Hello, spring! We don’t blame you if your home is a little worse for wear after a long winter hibernation. To refresh your home for spring, try these four budget-friendly projects that you can do in a single weekend — or even a matter of hours with the help of a Tasker.

springrefreshheader1It’s time to put the flannel sheets, heavy drapes, and fluffy bathrobes into storage. Break out lighter materials like linen, cotton, and lace to make any space feel instantly cooler and breezier. Changing fixtures and lighting are another way to celebrate seasonality without a major overhaul. One of our favorite projects is swapping cabinet handles for leather pulls.

springrefresh2Add new life to a space with a fresh coat of paint. Choose a color that brings out the color of furniture or artwork in the room, or use wallpaper to create a patterned accent wall. For the adventurous, try painting just the ceiling to add an unexpected pop of color. Need some inspiration? Try a shade from Pantone’s Spring/Summer 2019 mood board, and see our painting and wallpapering guide for tips from Taskers on the ins and outs.

springrefresh3From succulents to leafy fronds, houseplants add color and freshness to any room with minimal fuss. (Sounds like the perfect houseguest!) Try plants that pull double duty, like fragrant herbs you can use in seasonal recipes or air purifying plants for the bathroom. If you don’t have a green thumb, start with easy-to-care-for varieties like snake plants, aloe, or spider plants.
