Tax Day!

Tomorrow is Tax Day! In case you left your taxes to the last minute, or maybe you want to start thinking of how you can best tackle your taxes for next year, we want to make sure you have everything you need for filing as an independent contractor for your TaskRabbit business.

As a Tasker, you don’t have taxes withheld from your take-home earnings throughout the year, so it’s up to you to report your income to the IRS during tax season. To make this process easier, you can download your 2017 Transaction History as a PDF or CSV file here.

TaskRabbit is unable to provide tax advice or answer specific questions about reporting your income. If you have any questions or concerns, we recommend that you contact a Certified Public Accountant.

However, if you aren’t excited at the prospect of tackling your taxes alone, we are happy to share some resources to help you complete them with ease.  As a Tasker, you have access to exclusive discounts with our long-term partner TurboTax (which can help you file), and with our preferred tax vendor QuickBooks Self-Employed (which can help you balance your books).

For more general tax-related questions, you may also want to reference this helpful article from Intuit with tax tips for Taskers.

Another option to help you take on your taxes is Stride, which can help you maximize your tax deductions. (It can also help you find health, dental and vision coverage at affordable prices). Stride Tax is a simple, all-in-one expense-tracking and deduction-finding app that helps you save money and file your taxes with ease – and it’s free.
