TASK OF THE WEEK: BUY ME A BELT TO REPLACE THE ONE I BROKE AT THE AIRPORT

Airports are always a stressful place. There’s that whole disrobing-unpacking-your-laptop-taking-your-shoes-off security screening thing, where you scurry to comply and then have to re-pack and get dressed again on the other side of the scanner, hoping you didn’t leave anything behind.

For one Client trying to catch a flight to New York out of SFO, his trip became even more stressful when as he was going through security,, the buckle on his belt broke off. Scheduled to arrive in New York at 11:30p.m. — well after department store closing hours — and with a business meeting the next day at 7:30a.m. — well before opening hours — it was a race against time to come up with a solution.

The unfortunate victim of this wardrobe malfunction had never used TaskRabbit before, but had heard of our services. In the time it took to hustle to his gate and board the plane, he had downloaded the TaskRabbit app and listed his task: Buy the least expensive dress belt in New York and leave it with the concierge at the hotel he would be staying at.

Flight attendants asked passengers to put their phones in airplane mode just as our Client finished texting task details to Tasker Grayson H. The flight ended up being delayed, leaving Tasker Grayson plenty of time to get the belt and leave it at the hotel concierge in New York.

Our Client finally arrived in New York at 3:30a.m., with just a few hours to spare before his meeting, sporting his new belt.

Have a last minute emergency? TaskRabbit is here to save the day!
