Last month, we announced our plans to launch The New TaskRabbit, a brand new product experience designed to deliver a higher-quality, more secure and seamless tasking experience. The response to The New TaskRabbit has been overwhelmingly positive. Since our announcement in June, we’ve received over 16,000 Tasker applications and saw a 200% increase in Client sign ups.
Today, we couldn’t be happier to announce that The New TaskRabbit is live. And we have even more exciting news to share. We’re also launching brand new iOS and Android apps today, designed specifically for our Clients. These apps let our Clients find help with their home service needs – house cleaning, handyman tasks, moving help and personal assistance – while on the go. The apps allow Clients to find, hire and chat with Taskers quickly and easily.

The safety and security of our community is, and always has been, our main priority. That’s why we’ve spent months developing an industry-leading insurance policy. We are thrilled to announce that effective today, every task posted on the TaskRabbit platform is insured up to $1 million.
The New TaskRabbit was born out of months of research with our community. Both our Clients and Taskers asked for a more seamless and secure way to communicate – we built a proprietary messaging platform. Our Taskers asked for an easier way to manage their schedule – we built a new scheduling tool. We’ve simplified our product experience and kept the logistics of scheduling and communication all in one place – on the TaskRabbit platform. Our Clients also told us that they wanted to leave the site knowing who they will be working with, how much the task will cost and when the task will be complete. We developed a proprietary matching algorithm that immediately finds a perfect match, resulting in a more seamless customer experience.
So, to recap, here’s what’s new with The New TaskRabbit:
Brand new iOS and Android apps for our Clients
We’ve developed brand new iOS and Android apps for our Clients to find, hire and chat with Taskers quickly and easily that are available for download today.
The Perfect Match
We built a matching algorithm that automatically matches Clients with Taskers who have the right skills and availability for their tasks. The matching algorithm takes into account our Taskers’ past behavior on the site, their unique skills, and availability. We present the Client with a variety of suitable Tasker candidates – some tenured, some new – so the Client is able to make a selection on the grounds they see fit (e.g. experience, ratings/ reviews or price).
Tasks are immediately assigned once a Client selects a Tasker they’d like to work with. Clients leave the site knowing who they will be working with, how much the task will cost and when the task will be complete.
All tasks are priced by the hour, so Clients can select Taskers with their preferred rate. No more “pricing anxiety;” it’s easy to calculate how much a task will cost based on the anticipated time required.
Easy + Secure Communication
Clients will now be able to communicate directly with Taskers without sharing any personal information, using our new messaging platform. In addition to the apps for our Clients, we’ve also launched new iOS and Android apps – built exclusively for our Taskers – to let them communicate with their Clients on the go.
