Hi, it’s Rebecca, Marketing Guru at RME. A few things have happened recently that have got me thinking about one liners. Classic lines like “I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse” from the Godfather come to mind every time I am negotiating a deal or trying to sell something. More recently it seems I am inundated with one liners, quick quotes, sound bites.
Whenever my husband gets around his brothers it’s a Simpsons one liner fest. Sometimes I hear them go back and forth (for what seems like forever) spouting off favorite lines from their favorite shows breaking only to laugh and delve deeper into a specific episode.
I flipped on a James Bond movie the other night (From Russia with Love) and heard the infamous “Shaken. Not stirred” line. Has anyone you know ordered a Martini and been able not to mention this line or emulate the delivery at least once? I bet not.
How writers are able to articulate such sentiments in a short few words is truly remarkable. From the length of my posts you can see I do not have that gift. But, it got me thinking about RunMyErrand and how we are so many different things to so many different people. And the essence of who we are and what we provide is sometimes more elusive than can be described succinctly.
