A bit about me:
I have been working with Leah since February on RUNmyERRAND and I started full time in May. As a father of two young sons, I became hooked to the idea when my wife and I used the site to take care of dry cleaning in the front hall. While this might sound easy to many, our first son was only a month old and it was such a pain to dress two kids just to walk to the cleaners. After the errand was completed, I realized the power of the runner community and decided that I had to work with the RUNmyERRAND.
Before RUNmyERRAND, I spent four years in the United States Navy. I had a myriad of experiences, but my favorite ones were driving ships in cool areas such as the Panama Canal, Galapagos Islands, and Suez Canal. I joined the Navy because I wanted to work at something I believed in, and I hadn’t found that anywhere else. My experience was amazing, and I miss all the great people I worked with. Having grown up and gone to school in Massachusetts, it was interesting to work with a diverse group of people from all over the United States- you would be surprised how many people join from land locked states.
My next step was business school back in Boston. I learned a lot and met a lot of great people, but I was always itching to get back to work. I also had a couple of start-up experiences along the way, so I know how hard it is to grow a company with limited resources. Now I am at RUNmyERRAND.
My role at RUNmyERRAND:
At RUNmyERRAND, I took on the title of “Chief Runner.” I try to make sure RUNmyERRAND “runs” smoothly everyday for everyone. I also didn’t want a standard title, because RUNmyERRAND is not a standard company. Customer experience is very important to me, and I know I work for the hundreds of runners and senders out there. You make the platform work. We at RUNmyERRAND just facilitate the transactions. I take every errand personally, and I want to make sure the site is functional, fair, and fast.
To me, the best thing about RUNmyERRAND is the amazing quality and professionalism of all the runners. Our average sender review is almost 5 out of 5 stars, and our challenge now is growing the sender base. There is a level of trust that we have to provide between the runners and senders, and the current functionality on the site is working really well- ratings, reviews, favorite runners, etc. Without the runners, RUNmyERRAND would not work. You rock!
