Introducing TaskRabbit Ambassador Erika Murdock Balbuena

Bringing back that old time neighborhood spirit is easy when there are good neighbors involved. We’re lucky to have a whole army of them in the form of friendly, talented, and entrepreneurial TaskRabbits. Every day, TaskRabbits in cities around the country put smiles on faces, scratch errands off To-Do lists, and save the day for busy people right in their own communities.

Supporting TaskRabbits in every way possible is a top priority for us, which is why we’re thrilled to welcome Erika Murdock Balbuena to the team as our new TaskRabbit Ambassador. Say hi, Erika:

  1. Hi Erika. So glad to have you aboard! I have LOVE being a TaskRabbit here in Austin, Texas. I’ve met sooooooo many new people and done incredibly fun tasks.

I wonder how I might go about getting a green TaskRabbit t-shirt so I can wear it while making my deliveries. Any help you might give, sure would be appreciated!

Again, welcome, and I look forward to working with you.

    Best,
    Judy Hayes

  2. Welcome Erika.

Our community is really growing. I came on board nearly two years ago. I found Task Rabbit whilst I was sending out resumes after not working full time for nearly 16 years, whilst raising my two daughters. And then, Voila! There was an advertisement for Task Rabbit on a site. I didn’t need tasks done but wondered, who was doing the tasks? This is what I always wanted to do. I wanted to be a personal assistant, helping people do what they had no time at all for these tasks in their daily lives. I thought about possibly starting my own business, but was not savvy at business, nor knowledgeable about how to go about it, having coming from a social work back round.

I love Task Rabbit and what it has afforded me as a person, a mum, a neighbour and a professional. I don’t think I could have asked for anything better through this life transition.

I am so happy to meet someone else in our community and really look forward to continuing my services within San Francisco, the city where I was born and my parents were born and my grandparents who migrated here from Ireland, Italy and Sweden.

I hope I can work with you in any capacity that would benefit our company. I can’t wait to meet you Erika.

    Cheers,
    Alanna Greenham

  3. Thank you all for the wonderful support! I really, sincerely appreciate it and am so happy to be a part of this wonderful community.

@Judy – Thanks for helping build out our Austin TaskRabbit presence!

@Alanna – what an incredible story. I’m so glad that you have not only found something that provides you work, but something that you love.

@Neil – Thank you so much!

    @Sara – Yes there are!

  4. Hi Erika and Welcome! I am pretty much retired and love working for T.R. which I began doing about 10 months ago. I love making the choices as to what I want to do and when I want to do it. Also, have met some really amazing people who seem to really appreciate our efforts. Just one tiny suggestion: I run into a lot of people who have never heard of us. I think that some more local publicity would do us a world of good. As an ex store owner, I know advertising can be expensive, but I really feel that it would pay off big! Most of the people who have not heard of us think that Task Rabbit is a great idea and would be interested in using it in future. So…..that is my 2cnets. Hope you do not mind the suggestion and again, nice to have you on board.
    Sincerely,
    Margaret

  5. Hi Erika!
So glad you’ve joined our team! I’ve had so much fun being a Task Rabbit in Portland for the past few weeks. The people I’ve met, both clients and other Task Rabbits are all amazing, personable, talented, smart people. My mom told me about TR and suggested I try it–I’m so glad I did! Can’t wait to I achieve Level 5 so I can get one of those snazzy, lovely green Task Rabbit shirts! (only 135 to go!) I look forward to hearing from you in the future! Welcome!

  6. Erika! Finally to ‘see’ you! Impressive… How many takes did you have? LOL.
Well, let us know if there are anything we as Rabbits can do to help you and help our community make better. Hope to really see you in person here in Portland. (Come in summer when everything is wonderful.)
    Welcome on board!

  7. @Margaret So nice to hear that you’ve had such a great experience. A lot of our TaskRabbits love doing this kind of work because they get to meet so many great people. As far as advertising goes, we are working hard on that here and building out our marketing team so that we can increase that.

@Chelle So glad you are in one of our newer cities and having a great time. Madoka who commented right below you is actually in Portland too and a great resource. Can’t wait to send you a tshirt at Level 5.

@Madoka I’ll admit I did have to have a few takes, but not too many. I’ll keep you posted on a PDX trip. And you let me know if there is anything else you need!

Thanks to all of you for such a warm welcome!
