Important Runner Update-TaskRabbit San Francisco

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Hello Runners!

Quick Update for everyone:

As you know, we are preparing to launch TASKRABBIT SAN FRANCISCO and as we prepare for this major launch, we will be running tests on the new site.

You may see an accidental task posted that pertains to the San Fran area. While we are doing our absolute BEST to make sure there are no San Fran Tasks posted on the TaskRabbit Boston site, in the course of testing there may be a little spill over.

We ask that you guys:

1. Pay EXTRA attention to where a task is located before picking it up. If a task is posted for San Fran, unless you own a flying car, please do not pick it up. Instead, alert Amanda@TaskRabbit.com.

2. Stay tuned for more updates on our major TaskRabbit San Francisco launch!

3. Let all of your friends and loved ones in the San Fran/Bay Area know that Bunnies will be taking over their town shortly! We are currently accepting Runner applications for TaskRabbit San Francisco!

My job is to help you with anything, so call on me (Amanda@TaskRabbit) for assistance or to answer any questions you have.

The Runner Report – Week of 5/10/2010

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

All the TaskRabbit News that’s Fit To Print!

Runners, Unite!

Runners, Unite!

Hello Runners!
Welcome to the bi-weekly Runner Report. Included will be shoutouts to Superstar Runners, tips and helpful tricks to help YOU guys run more tasks, more efficiently and answers to the top questions I have received for the week.
Question #1: Can I advertise my personal promo code on Twitter/Facebook/Craigslist?
Answer – YES! By all mean, we WANT you to send your promo code out to everyone! You get $5 added to your account at the end of the month for every time someone uses your promo code. The more you promote your code – the more easy money you make!

Question #2: What happens if I do a task and the Sender doesn’t mark the task as completed? Will I get paid?
Answer – Yes! We auto-close out all tasks after 3 days, so no worries. The Runner fee will be automatically dropped into your account after the 3rd day if a Sender does not close the task on their own.

Question #3: How do I get my personal promo code?
Answer- Email Amanda@TaskRabbit.com (me) and ask to be signed up for your code. Your personal promo code works like a business card. You hand it out/give it out/post it everywhere and for every time that your code is used YOU get $5 and the Sender get’s $15 off of their first task. It’s a great deal for everyone!

Question #4: I’ve accepted a task, but the Sender hasn’t replied yet. How do I get in touch with them?
Answer-If you have some time before the task needs to be completed, give the Sender a fair amount of time to get back to you. If the task needs to be done ASAP and you can’t get in touch with the Sender, send up the Bat-signal to Amanda (me) and let me know that YOU NEED HELP! My job is to help the Runners with anything they need, so call on me for assistance in situations like this.

SUPERSTARS OF THE WEEK!

These two Superstar Runners have been awarded 25 bonus points each for awesomeness in the field of TaskRabbit Duty!

Superstar #1Diane H. was hired to help a Mom clean her house for a day and Diane did such a great job that she received a tip AND a 5 star rating PLUS a glowing review! We also received a personal email from the Sender hailing Diane’s efforts, enthusiasm, hard work and professionalism. Diane made a Sender’s Mother’s Day gift extra special and for that WE SALUTE DIANE!

Superstar #2Nathaniel G. had the most epic profile photo we have ever seen posted on TaskRabbit. As a student at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Nat added great descriptive words and a photo of a live bunny to his profile pic. While we do encourage ALL Runners to upload photos of themselves to help Senders identify you in the course of running tasks, Nat went above and beyond our expectations for a profile pic, and for that WE SALUTE NAT G!

STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES ON THE POINTS PROGRAM and until then, HAPPY TASKING, RUNNERS!

TaskRabbit Launches TaskRabbit Metrowest!

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

You called – We answered.

We’ve had SO many requests for Runners in the Metrowest neighborhoods that we took things one step further and launched TASKRABBIT METROWEST!

This marks the first official local launch of TaskRabbit. Who KNOWS where our next launch might be…it might even be in your neighborhood!

What does this mean for TaskRabbit Members? You will now see a link to MY CITY in the upper right hand corner of TaskRabbit.com. Here, you can switch your city from TaskRabbit BOSTON to TaskRabbit METROWEST.

Members in the Metrowest area can now post their tasks specifically to Metrowest Runners, which means more localized attention and speedier task pick ups.

TaskRabbit is growing by LEAPS and BOUNDS (hop!) Whether you need a Runner to help you build Ikea furniture in the Greater Boston area OR you need coffee from Pete’s Coffee in Newton Center…there’s a Runner for that and they are right around the corner.

Neighbors helping neighbors. It’s who we are and what we do. Spread the love.

#RunMyMarathon is off and Running with TaskRabbit!

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

In the midst of all of this excitement surrounding our new NAME, new SITE and new LOGO, we want to remind everyone about our Boston Marathon Experience, RunMyMarathon, which is coming up quickly (4/19 – Marathon Monday!)

TaskRabbit is running the Boston Marathon for THREE local charities and we need YOUR help! Our Runners are all set to run, our Chief Inspiration Officer has been training hard, and we have been working our bunny tails off to raise money for The Ellie Fund, National Federation of the Blind for Massachusetts and the Councils on Aging but we need your support! Dig out that loose change from the sofa and send it to your favorite charity (or two or three…)

Come join us at Heartbreak Hill on Marathon Monday as we help marathon runners with our RABBIT RESCUE STATION (look for the green ZIPCAR and our bunny ears!) where we will be handing out water and other vital necessities for the marathon runners.

Life is a Marathon. We Can Help!

And DON’T FORGET TO FAN US ON OUR NEW FACEBOOK PAGE ! You don’t want to miss out on all of the fun!

Tips for New Runners

Monday, March 8th, 2010

We are proud to announce that RunMyErrand has welcomed nearly 40 new Runners to our community. For Senders, this means the chances of your errand getting picked up quickly are even higher. For Runners, this means you’ve joined an awesome community of neighbors helping neighbors and making some extra money in your free time. It’s a win-win for everyone!

So you’ve been approved and you are now scouring the boards looking for great errands to run. Here are some important tips to keep in mind as you work your way toward becoming a 5 Star Runner.

THE TOP 5 TIPS ON BECOMING A 5 STAR RUNNER

5. Be Polite and Personable. The first thing we hear from Senders regarding our 5 Star Runners is he/she was just so NICE! Senders have never met you before and it makes everything just a little easier and more comfortable when you show up on their doorstep with a smile and a handshake.

4. Be Punctual. Seems like a no brainer, right? But being on time is vital to running many of these errands and Senders want a Runner they can depend on. Then by the time we add in the “choose your favorite Runner to run this errand” function, you’ll have hordes of Senders who had a great experience with you and you’ll be more popular than oxygen.

3. Communication is Key. Before you jump in the car/T/on your bike to run that errand, reach out to your Sender and collect all pertinent information from them. Get a contact number, time, place and complete description of what needs to be done. No one will penalize you for asking too many questions, but not gathering all of the necessary info about an errand will nearly always lead to roadblocks. Be thorough.

2. If the errand don’t fit, don’t accept it. If you are not absolutely, 100%, without a doubt certain that you can run this errand, do NOT bid on it. We understand that things happen and in the case of extenuating circumstances sometimes a Runner can’t run an errand they have been approved for. However, this is a tedious process on our end to get errands and Runners switched around and Senders often get frustrated when this happens. So in the spirit of keeping things simple and running smoothly for all parties, please don’t accept an errand unless you are certain you can handle that errand.

1. Stay Connected! We give the Runners three different ways to stay connected with up to the second errand postings. You can check the RunMyErrand.com site for errand listings, you can sign up to have a text message sent to your phone with errand listing updates or you can follow us on Twitter @RMERunners. We also post fun updates and news about the website @RunMyErrand and of course we have a cool Facebook Fan Page where we post our favorite errands and success stories. If you run a great errand, you’ll be featured on the Facebook page! We also announce all of our contests and winners here, so fan us today!

And of course if you need help along the way I am here to help! I’m just a live chat or an email away should you have questions.

Amanda@RunMyErrand.com HAPPY RUNNING!

Q. Parents – What do you need most?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

A. More time in your day to spend with your family.

Save time, spend it with your family!

Save time, spend it with your family!

RunMyErrand can save you time in a million different ways. Here are some ideas:

4. PARTY PLANNING - Let an RME Party Planner plan your child’s next birthday party, bar/bat miztvah or any fun event. We have loads of party planners on board who are ready to help. Try using us for a birthday party or sleepover (we’ll do the invites, food prep, even transportation.)

3. NUTRITIONAL MEAL PLANNINGYou’ve got so much to do, meal planning is tough!  Let a Runner do your grocery shopping & make smart nutritional choices based on your specifications.  THEN, have your Runner create a custom menu for your family for the week! No more running around.  We’ll do that for you & deliver wholesome food right to your door!

2. TRANSPORTATION – How much time do you spend shuttling the kids around? Our Runners are background and safety checked and many are parents themselves! Why not hire a Runner to take Timmy and Susie to piano practice, soccer practice and tutoring twice a week so you can enjoy a little down time?

1. DAILY TO-DO’s – Pick up the dry cleaning, take the dog to the vet, return those shirts to the mall, buy diapers, drop off the donations and take the car in for an oil change. What do these chores have in common? They all take lots of time!  So why not give your to-do list to an expert Runner while you enjoy down time with your family?

RunMyErrand is so easy to use. Just sign in, post your errand and put your feet up while someone else handles the chores! It’s as easy as pie (that you and the kids baked together and took pictures of to send to the grandparents!)

Polka Dog Bakery – Pet Food Replenishment Program

Dog Food Delivery From RunMyErrand!

Dog Food Delivery From RunMyErrand!

RME is very excited to announce that we will now be offering a Pet Food Delivery Program through Polka Dog Bakery (located in Jamaica Plain and in the South End.) Now you can have your pet food delivered directly to your door at regular weekly or monthly intervals for just $10!

So say your household pets are the following:

Fifi Von Fluffystuff (cat)

Genevive (Yellow Lab)

and Cuchi-Cuchi (mini Dachshund.)

Let’s say that you are a busy individual who is far too busy playing with said pets and watching the Puppy Bowl to leave the house to take the T across town, in the snow, uphill BOTH WAYS, to pick up nom-noms and LARGE bags of food for said pets. Having to do all of this every 2 weeks is, as the French say, LAME.

Let us do the heavy lifting! Simply fill out an order slip (available at Polka Dog Locations, stop in or call). Fill in the types of dog food Genevive likes, the exact cat food and cat litter Fifi loves and the little extras that Cuchi-Cuchi enjoys (chewie nom-noms). Then tell us how often you want this delivered and POOF! An RME Runner will deliver everything right to your door every week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks or 6 weeks, depending on how much Cuchi-Cuchi eats.

Your credit card is kept on file and delivery is only $10. Orders over $75 get 10% off of their entire order.

Polka Dog Bakery offers loads of brands of dog and cat food, such as Solid Gold, Nutro and Wellness, as well as cat litter, dog treats and waste bags. Don’t miss out on time that could better be spent at the puppy park. We’ll handle this chore for you.

Raise your paw if you like this idea!
